Man busts out of Santa Fe (NM) police cruiser

Santa Fe Police on Monday got their man.

Twice.

Jeremy Martinez, a 23-year-old Santa Fe man who is No. 5 on the department's Most Wanted list, was arrested Monday night and served an outstanding district court warrant for violating his probation in June.

While being transported to the Santa Fe County jail, the 5-foot-6, 160-pound Martinez managed to kick out the rear passenger window of the patrol car he was riding in, jump out and get away from police by fleeing toward Interstate 25, according to Santa Fe Police Chief Aric Wheeler. He was still in handcuffs while fleeing.
