I have to agree with some of of the people who say that this is a better protrayal of Two-Face. He should not be laughing, dancing, smiling, or any of that nonsense like he did in Batman Forever because those are Joker's trademarks. Two-Face should be angry and pissed off since he has lost everything (including half of his face) and I applaud Aaron Eckhart for this performance.

He lost more than just his girlfriend. He also lost his career, the support of all the Gotham citizens, his life, all hope of saving Gotham, and....oh yeah, half of his face. You'd be on a killing spree too if the same thing happened to you and besides, this Two-Face here is like a more twisted version of Charles Bronson from Death Wish.

@betatalk357 Maybe Dent used to be a cop before he became District Attorney. They imply in a few lines that he was in Internal Affairs, which is a bureau of the police. This would make Dent the other dead cop besides Wuertz, and the 5th dead person next to Maroni, his driver, his other bodyguard, and Wuertz. Remember that Batman is taking the blame for all 5 deaths, including Harvey's. Hope I helped :)

@betatalk357 Nolan doesn't explain everything, instead he leaves a lot open to interpretation (ie things happen between scenes, or are implied to happen, etc). In the movie we see, I'll bet, 10% of what Joker has actually done, although the 10% we see is focused on the results of his actions. I'll bet with Dent it's similar, we see some of his actions, mainly focused on the results, but not most of it. In fact the same is true of Batman, he is doing a lot behind the scenes (as Lucius learns).
