@numchiks10 you obviously haven't seen any of the Roddick matches from 2000-2005 where he literally went for everything. He hit the ball big and flat but Federer would get everything back (prime example Fed vs Roddick Toronto 04 Final), and he tried it again in the 07 US Open qf but Fed just got everything back again. But you're right, if he had done what he used to do all the time he would maybe have gotten one more slam. He made more finals in 03-06 (one final a year) than he has since then.

Roddick had two match points???? That would have ruined Fed's 41 match winning streak which ran from US Open (August 2006) through Indian Wells (March 2007). He won seven titles in that streak including US Open, Tokyo, Madrid Masters, Basel, Masters Cup, Australian Open and Dubai!!!!

Two things:
Roddick never goes for anything, doesn't know how to. If he ever flattened out the ball and hit he may have had more than one tourn to his name.
The one handed back hand (when executed properly) loves high spin into a shortened court and can create angles and pace with little practice. Why is no one telling roddick this? Nadal knows.

Watch Roddick hit that forehand at 2:38, and then scramble to get to the Fed's backhand down the line. Reminds me of a time I played a pro-am and admired a backhand down the line way too much, the guy got to it and just made me look stupid.
