The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History celebrated a construction milestone with a public topping out dedication, recognizing the installation of steel at the highest point of the Museum's new facility - located in the Museum's entrance and "Urban Lantern." The dedication featured comments by President Van Romans and Board Chairman Bob Lansford and music by Fort Worth's Kids Who Care, and culminated as Linbeck Construction hoisted the highest piece of steel into place. The painted steel beam bore the signatures of hundreds of Museum supporters who had signed the steel over the two preceding days as well as U.S. and Texas flags and a peach tree, a nod to the fact that one of the courtyard spaces in the Legorreta+Legorreta-designed facility will feature a peach tree orchard. Completion of the new Museum facility is scheduled for the Fall of 2009.
