My remake of the opening chase underscore from the TV pilot "Annihilator", scored by Sylvester Levay and Udi Harpaz. I had to make some compromises as both my sources are cluttered with foley, making the music extremely hard to make out at some points. And the original is obviously cut and spliced in several places to match the film, making it unreliable for a 100 % remake. Also I put a limit on around 3 minutes or else it would be too repetitive. However, the arrangement in the first two minutes is as close to the film as possible. This was a hard remake and making the correct synth sounds took quite some time. But it was fun and a good learning experience.

  • Audionized ... reat good effort on your part here. I have been after this theme for well over 20 years! Thanks to you I now have it. Bravo ... well done Sir!

........ the only difference I see between your theme on here and the actual theme from the movie itself is the 'wolf howl' which features on this track every now and again during the chase scene which I think is awesome ... get that in and you're the ultimate master..... could you do that?...

  • @wolverine700 Thanks a lot wolverine! Much appreciated! Don't think I didn't try.. I searched high and low for a similar wolf howl but I could not find one that was close enough to the original. If I can get one I will include it for sure. (-:

I will have the MP3 version up soon!

  • Incredible :-)

But just do compare your "repeating drum part" (I don't know how else to describe this) to the one in the original video:

Don't you agree that the drum part in the original does some kind of climactic crescendo and is getting "louder" or rather "more powerful"?! It has always been a typical criterion to me.

Otherwise I just ADORE your work. :-)

  • @BleuDeQ Thanks! Yes, I have noticed that it sounds like certain parts are getting louder in some places, but I think it has more to do with the master compression on the movie's audio track, you know, where there are a lot of foley the music is more silent and when there is less foley the music gets louder. I could of course be wrong. It could be simulated with automation on the volume for the percussive parts, but until we get a better source and know for sure it would be a little pointless (:
