  • @luciferiexcelsil Yes, but the olive oil extraction that date back to 5000 BC. Long before the Roman Empire.

Hispania ("Old territories of Spain"), was part of the Roman Empire. Italy as a country only 150 years old. 2011 is the 150 th anniversary of the reunification of Italy. Before this, the southern half of Italy was Spanish. The crown of Aragon owns the Two Sicilies. Do not confuse current countries with territories. Half of North America was Spanish in this period too. Cheers of Andalusia.

  • The best oil for frying. supports a higher temperature than other oils without producing toxins. In Spain it is used including for frying. It is more expensive than sunflower. Spain is by far the largest producer of olive oil of the world. Especially in the province of Jaén. The excesses of production of olive oil are exported to Italy and then sells it from Italy to USA normaly (more expensive of course).USA could plant olive trees on California and reduce the cost of oil.Simply the best oil

  • Those arguing about Italian and Spanish Olive Oil.... Italians have depended on Spanish Olive oil since Roman times, so there you have it.

  • @plasmagic but if many Italian companies have spent years buying olive oil in Spain and then market it as Italian

  • Eres la ostia resala'o!!

Ahí te quiero ver. Viva España y viva Asturias !

  • @plasmagic A great deal of 'italian' oil is indeed of spanish origin. They only bottle it.

  • agree with the comment below, what's best in italy is marketing, they in fact import a big percentage of what they export in europe from Spain... (check out olive oil production in wikipedia)
