Robotically-Assisted Gynecologic Surgery

Purpose of robotics allow procdures performed by laparotomy or thoracotomy to be performed by laparoscopy. Robots are being evaluted in many surgical procedures. The console where the surgeon sits is provided with two handles that control the robotic arms, the InSight vision system allows binocular vision with 3D view, the patient-side cart with robotic arms has three to five arms, one holds the laparoscopic and the others are instrument holders or tissue extractors. Manipulation of the robotic arms is transmitted to a computer that filters, scales and then translates the surgeons movements through the robotic amrs.
