Harris is brilliant, but he's wrong about Jesus telling people to bring nonbelievers before him and slay them @ 5:23. That passage (Luke 19:27) is read out of context - Jesus does say it, but is quoting another man, some sort of king who has returned from vacation, in a parable about wealth.
So yeah, Harris is totally misrepresenting the bible there.

@KCkoolaidking you my friend, have mad an absolutly EXCELENT point. When people admire celebrities over the four horse men (hitchens, dawkins, harris, denne
t) and all the other genius scientists in the world then we know there is a huge issue that must be delt with. Sadly are numbers are limited while theres are in abundance. Cud u imagine if 7 billion brains where all geared towards the progression of mand kind as a whole ?? rather than it wasted on such useless activities. like prayer. :) -
I don't believe in hariss's god or his atheism. unless his lord is atheism directed towards popular religion.....

@PaladinHero He's saying that math and physics are the same no matter who practices it. 2+2=4 EVERY TIME, it doesn't matter what nationality the person is.
-
@PaladinHero it's true, algebra was invented by a muslim too, but it's not like christians or jews have a different view on math. everyone shares the same view on algebra because it's an objective fact, not a lifestyle choice.
-
@PaladinHero That is exactly why he used those example (ie; "Muslim mathematics and catholic physics) because even though each were instrumental in the discovery of these disciplines, we do not think of them along religious or cultural lines. They are Universal Truths which cross geo-political, religious, and cultural boundaries, and only when we can talk in terms of spiritual and ethical truths which also cross such boundaries, will we be on the right path.
this has 15000 views. Bieber has tens of millions. This is what keeps me up at night

@PaladinHero What he is saying is basicaly that the "truth" statements of mathematics is not different with respect to faith or geographical location. 2+2=4 is somewhat an inherent truth in the system/language of mathematics. Now Muslims have given major contributions to mathematics, as has Newton and Pythagoras. So when Pythagoras came up with the Pythagorean theorem it applied to "Muslim mathematics" as well.
Sorry for bad english.
