Johnny who? When the Globe turned down my Johnny Carson Celebrity story and pictures because the editor thought he was too old and no one would remember him.(He didn't want to see to even see the pictures!) Then I looked then at the National Enquirer ads and found the publishers and subscription locations are at the same places!
At that point, I just figured I would not try to sell them as I was encouraged to do, but just give them to you and tell my short story. I met other famous people who inspired me and therefore wanted to present them here also.

Thanks kindly for all your support. I would appreciate if you would please take a moment rate the video, subscribe to be notified when I produce another RC Television show, and if you know of others that would like to see this video, please pass it on.

Best Regards,
Dave Herbert

  • Well Dave, you may remember that Johnny Carson was once privileged to have an audience with the Pope. At one point they were together in the balcony overlooking Vatican Square. Two nuns out in the crowd were overheard talking, when one said to the other, "Who's that guy up there with Johnny?" :)

  • I did not know that! heyoooooooooo!!!!!!!

  • I am 26 and I know who jonny carson is...

  • Back in 85 Tabloids didn't think people would know Carson. I guess the wouldn't know Letterman, or Leno at this point either...I guess it sadly reveals their target audience, oh well I guess that lady never really did give birth to an extraterrestrial after all!)...Great video as always!

  • Great video Dave, I didn't know you designed so many cool things, I'm only 10 but I have heard of Johnny Carson.

  • Johnny was the best! Saw his car once in Las Vegas at the Imperial Palace hotel and casino on display in the car museum. His 1st car and it had a nice story posted next to it. Cheers, Letterman and Leno dont have the style and kindness as Jack Parr and Carson..Like his voice narration for PBS in the 1980s too.

  • I'm 30, and I know who he is, I do not remember watching him unfortunately. Don't worry about the globe, they don't know what they are missing!

  • I am only 43 years old, and I used to watch Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon on the Tonight Show all of the time! He was the best host of that show, because he was genuine, had lots of charisma, and always seemed to connect well with celebrities. Jay Leno is very formulaic, and he is just a puppet that just reads cue cards and does the same shtick every single night. He is also not a genuine good person like Johnny Carson was.

  • @NightFlyyer

I remember Carson. My mom and dad were big fans after we moved from the Netherlands to the US and ended up in San Diego. They used to watch him all the time but i was very little, we're talking 1978/79 here.

I think Delorean even gave him a goldplated DMC-12 or something because he was also a big fan

  • I'm 47 and I grew up watching Johnny Carson. He has never been replaced.

  • wow...I knew you had been around but...?Its an honor to have had direct correspondence with an rc legend! and fellow stormlauncher pilot lol I would like to achieve half of what you have.

  • I am not an American even I know and heard of Johnny Carson!
