  • That title scared me for a second.... The thumbnail said "similar moments in Okami and Twilight"...I'm happy I was wrong

  • @Bgeas12 Lolololol! That would've scared me to! The thought of it though, comparing Twilight to Okami... I just died a little inside...

  • Also, Okami first came out April 20th, 2006. Twilight Princess came out October 16th, 2006.

So both were in development around the same time, and therefore it would be near impossible for either to copy one another, though slightly possible for TP to take a couple ideas; though it'd be too late at that stage to change much of anything but minor details.

TL;DR: Near impossible for either to copy each-other.

  • @GlaceonOfHearts Not really, that's more than half a year apart. Plenty of time to add in some things.

  • @CrystalBahamut I agree that they have different emotions during when you see the zones first appear, although when you actually get there, the emotions are the reverse of what you said. The gameplay is also pretty different. What I would argue is the same is the concept in this case. They're bad effects on the land that that need to be rid of.

  • @GlaceonOfHearts TP was originally scheduled to be released in 2005 on the GameCube. But got held back so it could be released on the Wii as well.

  • @UniquEnegma Fair enough, and I do agree with pretty much all you said. Twilight Princess wasn't NEARLY as inventive as Okami, but that's probably because it was part of a well established series and as such didn't really "need" to do anything differently. Okami on the other hand did take a lot of the basic structure of Zelda but reinvented it, though I wish health expansion was solely through the praise leveling.

  • @CrystalBahamut I found the story in okami a lot more enjoyable than TP. Also, you kept using your powers again and again throughout the game. Which, IMO, means that it has better game design than TP because it's usually use an item for a dungeon and good luck finding that piece of heart somewhere in the world with said item. And so, the few dungeons in Okami, I found to be better than the many in TP

Granted though, TP combat system was a bit better, but only for Human Link.

  • @WolfenNights *Internet High Five* Well played good sir.

  • @UniquEnegma I really wish people would follow up their statements with something along the lines of evidence supporting their views. I don't care if you prefer one over the other; I care about WHY.

  • @cupcakewarpkelly Not surprising seeing as how Moltres is based off of the legendary phoenix.

  • @VidMasterZ I would argue they are only similar in terms of gameplay. For example, earlier in the video you compare Orochi's revival to the Twilight begining to cover Hyrule. While I will conceed that they might be similar in terms of obstructing light/the sun the emotions of these two moments are slanted in different ways: Orochi's revival with booming music gives you more of a sense of urgency while Hyrule being thrust into Twilight with a more subdued track gives melancholic air.

  • okami music... is stunning
