  • It sounds like this would easily get in the way of the bassist. I've noticed a lot of guitarists either forget he's there, or just ignore him altogether.

  • my band, Non Solid, does not apply to your rule

yet you can hear that there is a lot of space below 150Hz in this recording for any bassist

  • where do you get the modded DS-1 at im seeking it

  • I made it myself

  • @anon540 Bassist needs to step up too.

  • @anon540 Bassists are meant to be seen, not heard. ;)

Just kidding. I have done both bass and guitar, so I know where you are coming from. I didn't like feeling like I was getting drowned out, but I learned that I was only there to provide a fuller sound and rhythm, while the guitarist was featured in the sound. Just the way it goes.

  • @tomfromwinchell...if you send your own pedal to be modded they leave the original knobs and only mod the electronics.

  • @baghaturyan All I can say is if you order the mods from online sites make sure you get a wiring diagram and practice soldering before doing it on the real thing... If it is too intimidating for you its best to practice/watch videos and get familiar before trying...

  • @trousien I'm looking into high-quality mods. I actually spoke to Daniel at Keeley mods about modding some unique pedals (the Foxx Tone Machine reissue), and was turned away. Very nice guy though.

Anyway, I have some electronics exp, and I'm looking at getting into pedal modification. Any tips for a noob? I have some basic ideas for better components, anything that you'd like to share would be appreciated.

  • was this modded by keeley? if so, i was wondering why the knobs looked the same as the stock knobs. in my (limited) experience, the keeley ds-1 pedals i've seen have the knobs repaced.

  • @earsBLEEDmetal1

do a google search for keeley mod and theres a link to the robert keeley site, you can send urs to get modded or buy a new modded one. i had a guy in another city do mine for me.
