This flight from Hong Kong is to landing in San Francisco and made go around, and made 2nd landing. My guess the 1st landing was this plane put landing gears down first instead of flap down. UA856 (Seat:-50A) Reg:-N181UA

  • Flaps dont create lift? You guys should spend les time wanking off on this site making stupid comments & go & do a PPL ground course

  • Flaps are always lowered in stages according to airspeed. The landing gear is lowered around 10 to 15 miles out from the runway. The go around was either because they were too high on final approach or there was traffic in the way, preventing a safe landing.

  • @husto88 Flaps enlarge the total surface area and increase the camber of the wing which increases lift. If it only created drag we wouldn't be able to fly at slow speeds. Keep on studying as I'd expect more from a fellow PPL pilot.

  • Wtf, put landing gear down instead of flaps?? You are dumb wow -_-

  • In thrust we trust!

  • Wow Sydney is Awesome but I think San Francisco Bay Area is the most spectacular

  • i think his was too high ne?

  • @husto88 Flaps may be partially extended on takeoff to increase the amount of lift generated at a given airspeed, as well as to reduce the stalling speed of the airplane. Together, these two effects help an airplane lift off in a shorter distance at a lower drag penalty than that incurred by a full flap deflection.

  • If you compare the two approaches it's quite clear that on the first attempt the plane was coming in too high. On the second attempt it was way lower.

  • @bored2death14 took me about 3 minutes to understand that description

  • jaja, die piloten von lufthansa fliegen halt alle sehr sicher und gut, wer hat noch die exelente landung gesehen, und danach der staub von den rädern?

  • Flaps create lift but also slow down the aircraft. That is why the speed brakes are deployed at landing to counteract the lift created by the flaps.
