Nice axes. Vintage is the way to go... My first 2 axes were wetterlings, the next 20 or so were all vintage.. Cant beat the old axes.

I believe that my antique 2.25 lbs head with an ash handle that I carved with push knife, spoke shave, and scraper.

Wow the first time I have seen someone on Youtube who could actually cut down a tree correctly. Good Job. Maybe a lot of people would not have noticed but GOOD JOB.

who the hell taught you guys how to cut a tree down. you spent way to much effort. try alternating you cuts. one stroke down angle then straight in to cut out the chips. you keep cutting into the same place and that is counter productive.

The axe is one of the most useful and most dangerous tools. For safety reasons we never teach our students to make even horizontal cuts with an axe. We do make shallower cuts to clear as you say, but never to horizontal - to avoid the possibility of the axe deflecting upward towards say ones head - game ender. Mors Kochanski writes about it very well in his book "Bushcraft"
