This is Don Weis's fascinating Adventures of Hajji Baba from 1954. If you're like me, you've only heard of this film through the praise of Jonathan Rosenbaum. I think it makes his 1000-film list in Essential Cinema. This version is the French widescreen, sans sous-titres. There is a pan-and-scanned English version out there, but I don't have it. Enjoy.
I remember this as a boy and am fascinated with this movie. Thanks for this post. Don't ever take it away, please.
