Born And Raised In Ottawa Ont. Roger Hines is a north born jamaican. He is the second oldest of six kids and a single mother. With his father who passed away in his early adolescence, Roger took a major part in raising his two younger brothers and three sisters. Faced with new and repeating challenges everyday, Constant moving, empty cupboards, Drugs and violence were just a part of everyday life. It would seem the whole world was against him. When He was about 11 years old he picked up the pen for the first time and with music already in his background it came natural. After 4 years of free-styling here and there, it wasnt until the age of 15 he wrote his first song titled 'One Man' a song about struggling to rise above and overcoming people who do not believe in you. Inspired by his own reality at the time the song had expressed how he felt and what he thought the world should know. With that in mind he knew people would relate and the only way he was going to be heard was through music. Tired of living with no direction, Roger had finally felt he found himself. Roger has lived a life that needs to be shared with the world. One one side he exposes truths that so many people have not seen. On the other hand he shares a life that to many people are familiar with. Other than his own life, his inspiration comes from such artists as Tupac, Nas, Style P, Buck Etc. With his aspiring and distinct voice, Roger's lyrics are the hard-hitting truth and reflections of his own life. It would seem as the world was giving him a hard time, It also shaped him into who he has become. it gave him insight, values and the gift to be heard like no other. In 2007 Roger A.K.A. Notic successfully recorded his first album Unsigned Hype. this album pulls its listeners in with its hype beats and catchy hooks. Not to fool you though, when listening to the lyrics you can still hear the truth. He proves that you do not have to be just a 'image' to grasp the urban audience. His second Album Product Of a Hustler was released in late 2008. This album is more personal. While speaking of his own life growing up, It exposes the struggles and personal issues being seen but overlooked by many in todays world. NOTIC
