Cruise Ship Wild Waves

This is NOT a "wave pool", but the motion of this cruise ship in the swells of the Tasman Sea near Australia is causing the swimming pool on this upper deck to go wild, much to the delight of the childen playing in it. The pool water carries swimmers back and forth and causes dramatic splashing. On board Holland America Line's Statendam between Brisbane and Sydney.

Please keep in mind that this is not a wave pool. Cruise ships don't need wave pools, as you can see. The rougher the seas, the rougher the pools. No extra charge for the pool or the fun ride. I am usually in the pool when this is happening, because it is so much more fun than merely watching! You can't see the water dripping off the ceiling, but it happens. The pool water actually hits the ceiling sometimes.

@DigitizeThis I know the ships dont have a wave pool...I was commenting on the fact that the kids were having a great time and the cruise line didnt take advantage of this by charging extra for it like they do other "fun" things.
