http://www.canyoneers.com Canyoneers, the oldest of all Grand Canyon commercial river running outfitters, is unique in that their oar trips include a piece of living history: The 60-plus year old, fully restored wooden Nevills cataract boat the Sandra. The last cataract boat built by the legendary Norman Nevills in 1947, it is the only Nevills cataract boat still working Grand Canyon. All other surviving Nevills cataract boats are in museums or in private collections.

In this video, Greg Reiff, grandson of Norman Nevills and a third generation Grand Canyon river guide, explains how the boat was named for his mother, Sandy Nevills Reiff. Sandy and new husband Earl Weimer, recently married 50 years after dating in high school, come along on the trip for the first time together, making it an historic Grand Canyon honeymoon.
