SuperFreakonomics authors Steve Levitt and Stephen Dubner cite statistics that show, on a per mile basis, walking drunk is more deadly than driving drunk. "Friends don't let friends walk drunk," cautions Dubner.

  • maybie you should actually listening to the facts wich is what the videos purpose was all about before you make an ignorant statement like that.

  • Bottom line:

Putting substances in your body that alter your mind in terms of decision making and reaction time make the entire world more dangerous to you. You become less like a human and more like a dog, or cat. And yeah, they get hit by cars.

    Groundbreaking!

  • well conclusion get someone sober to drive you home(taxi, friend etc), drink where you sleep or get a pill that makes you sober right away.

  • @SanFranWay Same brain wave. Exactly what I thought. I guess the statistics were a lot less impressive when done by time!

  • oh gawd, how the fuck am I alive.

  • And that is why I just take a cab^^

  • however... drunk fucking is far more dangerous than both combined!!

  • Just give me some Peyote and a Hang-glider.

  • It takes a lot longer to walk a mile than drive a mile. Perhaps it would be better to use time rather than miles. You can do much more in 20 mins as oppose to 1 min.

  • if you have a bias against alcohol, keep it to yourself. you aren't changing minds posting material that is so narrow. humans haven't been using alcohol for thousands of years just to stop for some sad sack that comes on here and belittles it. alcohol in its entirety > you and i don't doubt that its here to stay for good. deal with it.

  • , that is the moment u start to become safe & secure from both criminals, drunks & tyranny. You yourself become responsible for yourself- hence u are free

  • And thus drunkeness is still only a social or moral problem of the individual- there exists no jurisdiction for govt to get involved anywhere here. You wanna "protect" individuals, than do urself & everyone else a favor and worry only about liberties. The moment u start caring only about the liberties of each individual instead of some sanctimonious ludicrous notions like 'war on drugs' or 'war on alcohol',etc
