Gerry Rafferty - Get It Right Next Time (1979).

A tribute to one of the best singer/songwriters, who sadly passed away on 4 January 2011, at the age of 63.

His greatest commercial success came with 1978's "Baker Street" album, and 1979's follow-up "Night Owl", from which this single was taken.

From 1969-1971, he was in The Humblebums with future comedian Billy Connolly, and from about 1972-1975 he was with the band Stealer's Wheel, who had a major hit with "Stuck In The Middle With You", which was used some 20 years later in the movie "Reservoir Dogs".

I bought CITY TO CITY on cassette when it came out, and played the tape into the ground! CAN I HAVE MY MONEY BACK was purchased for me as a Christmas gift that year as well, but I never picked up NIGHT OWL. What an oversight!

"Get It Right Next Time" would be -- by far -- one of my favorite tunes from (The Late) Gerry Rafferty. The song did substantial justice for a musician that did struggle to obtain recognition in the music industry. Rest In Peace -- Gerry Rafferty!! A Brilliant 12 From 1979.
