Few candidates for Congress have the experience or depth of understanding on the social or economic issues as does Rick Torres of Bridgeport. Torres is an American of Cuban heritage, an owner of a modest coffee and breakfast shop, which he operates as a family enterprise with his wife and five children.

Mr. Torres ran unsuccessfully for Mayor of Bridgeport, but received 43 % of the votes in a highly Democratic Party registered city. Torres is one of five Republicans vying for the nomination of their party to oppose freshman incumbent Reporesentative, Jim Himes (D) on Election Day, November 2, 2010.

In this video, Torres passionately presents his campaign to a group of invited guests. He was vigorously questioned as well. This video is one of a series produced from the afternoon meeting.
