I screwed up and deleted the orginal video so i re-recorded it. This take is a little better I think anyway.

My Gulbransen Rialto was on the fritz during the summer. There is a buggy capacitor or something on one of the channels that causes severe static noise so I disconnected the string/reed channels. I just plugged them back in to see if it would work again and so far so good. I decided to make a video while the goings good. Only problem is there are a couple of sticking keys that dont let up right away. For those who wonder why the hand registering. There is no combination action on Gulbransen Rialtos, at least not on this one. Those pistons you see operate reverb, 'percussion effects' (basically just sustains the tibias) chimes and sforzando. Sorry for the poor audio/video. I don't have an actual video camera. I just used my little digital camera to capture this.

  • where can i get the original sheet music for a theatre organ ?

  • @shadowthehedgehog224 You can find it anywhere really. musicnotes webssite is a place

  • @wurlitzer60 they dont seem to have it, they have anything BUT organ sheet music for this.any other that might hav it?

  • @shadowthehedgehog224 I highly doubt that you are going to find actual organ sheet music for songs like these. The best you will do is find piano sheet music. If you are looking for an original copy of this sheet music, I really don't know how to go about doing that. Sorry!

  • That was really good. You are very talented and very interesting. Please tell me these are your own arrangements. They are fresh and delightful.

  • Thanks! Yes, these are my own arrangements. I listen to alot of theatre organ recordings and get ideas to make my own arrangement.

  • Nice work! You need a third hand there!! But handle great registration changes very well without pistons.

  • Takes skill to do those registration changes without pistons and presets! I admire your work!

  • I used to have a Rialto similar to this a number of years ago. I really enjoyed it.

  • Hahaha...my sister just gave me a Gulbransen Theatrum organ today. I play piano/keyboard so I'm probably gonna have lots of fun pretending I'm a Alien behind that THING... LOL :D

  • Yes the imagination is in the ears. My head is filled with theater organ licks. Learned this technique years ago from being a guitar player, just avoid practicing licks. Instead practice songs. Scales? Debatable. Find your niche and if you are sounding out of the can then play the blues a little, just don't end up a Hammond player (lol).

  • just ran across your vids tonight.. damn. You sound great. keep it up.

  • I think that you could buy organ music books from your local Lowrey dealer I plan on doing so my self. It is most difficult to find organ sheet music, unless you buy it used?

  • @wurlitzer60 lol its ok. i looked for a several hours on any sheet music site i can find , i guess it doesnt exist anymore. so how do you play the pedals then? i see you playing them , plz tell me what u did to compensate for the lack of organ sheet music! ty :)
