Well everything is possible but I would spend my money on something more seaworthy because a Sportina isn't that much of an offshore sailer.
But in the end it depends on the skipper and his qualities.
You can train offshore and see what you make of it. You should also train in heavy weather because the ocean isn't forgiving in storms and gales.
