my cousin abused , i took a swing at my cousin but luckly he ducked,,,,is it correct...

and I would prefer unfortunately instead of luckily

So, "to take a swing at" is the same as "to duck"?

take a swing try to hit
duck move downwards so as to avoid a blow
@iswearenglish Yes, a case in point is ex president Bush when he ducked down in order to avoid being hit by a shoe. (the famous incident).
