A model in 54 mm scale of a French Old Guard Grenadier carrying a tired Drummer Boy on his back. In the background Napoleon can be seen sitting on his horse whilst taking a look at remains of what was once the worlds best army.

  • @Popebott34 Napoleons own words - "Of the fifty battles I have fought, the most terrible was that before Moscow. The French showed themselves to be worthy victors, and the Russians can rightly call themselves invincible." He hoped seizing Moscow would force Paul to the tables. Instead he found himself sitting in the ashes of a ruined city act performed by the Rus themself. Supplies denied, foraging over the greater area of Moscow denied by the Rus. He's army broken all this before winter came

  • @Popebott34 He's army was on the ropes by the time of Borodino he only had 130K men out of 400000+ Boridino was the the final blow A costly one which Kutuzov himself did not want to do yet. But Tsar and few others insisted. After the slug fest at Borodino Kutuzov didn't wait for a second day of battle and wisely retreated and Bonopart and his army couldn't stop or pursue him. Retreat from Moscow into Ukraine which was denied by the Russians further shows you what state his army was in.

  • great stuff well done !

  • @vkon15 Nope, the russians lost, but Napoleons men had no winter clothing. Russia beat them, not the Russians :P The funny part though is that this vid is called retreat from moscow, when they infact speant a week in moscow in palaces plundering the city ^_^

  • Very sad and charming, the expressions are excellent, good job

  • cute :)

  • @Oscar35135 Pretty sure it was the Russians who killed his army.

  • @Oscar35135 Just like Hitler.... Just like the Poles in 15-19th Century.... Just like the Swedes in 17-18 century.... :P Nobody can beat the Russian cold but the Russians themselves ( Russian Civil War )
