She's not a conservative, she's an opportunist.

@ConservativeTimes " I'm simpy saying that there arent any dumb cunts who graduate from Cornell."
...Keith Olbermann graduated from Cornell...and you seem to think that Liberals are dumb. You also claim that Cornell graduates can't be dumb.
Makes that kind of paradoxic, don't it?

Look, S.E Cupp uses her freedom of speech to "attack" the liberal media. So, the liberal media used their freedom of speech to "attack" her back. No one is trying to censor anybody here.
And am I the only person here who thinks it's somewhat of an oxymoron to say "conservative atheist"? You can be both, I guess, since there's no actual ideology in atheism (which is just non-belief) so you *can* be a conservative (conservatism is an ideology) as well as an atheist. But it is a bit weird.

I couldn't care less if they go after S.E. Cupp. I'd never defend this woman. Her comments on Christianity alone are offensive and demeaning. She says she's an atheist because basically believing in Christianity is beneath her intellectually. What? As if there aren't intelligent Christians? Some of the most intelligent people on the planet are Christians.
Like someone else said, she's an opportunist, and she sees being an atheist as some elitist fad that she can be a part of, like a diet.

Why does the Media take this sleaze bag seriously?

@BioCapsule You don't like her narrative regarding atheism and find it so absurd as not to be believable. I understand that perfectly, but I simply do not see the absurdity. We're clearly never going to rectify the basic definitional and argumentative issues here, so I'll leave you to think what you may.
-
@crusky The absurdity isn't the "wanting to believe but can't" part as mention in the last comment. It's the narrative she takes regarding her view on Atheism itself. My use of the word 'proud' apply to the whole sentence/persona she is marketing ""Atheist" who prefers to be religious" not just atheist.
No matter... if you don't get it then you don't get it. Just understand for people who don't like her, it's because of "what is actually said" not because she is the one saying it.
Good Day.

@BioCapsule I don't see the absurdity of the premise. Wanting to believe in God and not believing in God are not absurd when taken togther. Secondly, I do not believe that Cupp has said that she is proud to be atheist. She has said openly that she is an atheist and has not attempted to hide that fact, but that in no way indicates pride.
-
@crusky I wasn't doubting her becoz she lack animus toward religion, you totally misunderstood my point. It is perfectly normal to have crisis of faith or doubts about their views that may last a life time. Wanting to believe but can't or doesn't is one thing.
But we are talking about someone who is activity making a career saying how proud she is to be "atheist" who prefers to be religious, do u not see the absurdity (& the insult) of the premise. It is not about animus or lack thereof.
-
@BioCapsule The messenger is irrelevant to me. The point that I am making is a definitional one. An atheist is someone who does not believe in God. A lack of believe in God does not require any sort of animus towards religion or the religious. Only recently has the word atheist come to be associated necessarily with that sort of hostility. You could argue that a lack of believe in God necessarily creates conflict, but that is hardly something to be taken ex cathedra..
-
@crusky You can say it is ignorant/narrow-minded all you want... but with lines like "envy of religious people" & "aspire to be a person of faith one day" from self-proclaiming atheist. If you still think "its more who says something than what is actually said"... then there is nothing more to say.
Maybe you don't see it as a scam because you don't want to see it as a scam.
-
@BioCapsule No self-respective new atheism would ever say that, but not all atheists are new atheists. You're clearly projecting your own animus towards religion onto everyone who doesn't believe in God. That is both ignorant and narrow minded.
He meant the kinda "cup" a football player puts in his jock strap...
