Fascist Architecture

It does exist. Actually, there are many types of architecture throughout Italy. The style of the buildings definitely tells the story of when certain buildings were built. Fascism came into existence approx. the time of Mussolini--1920s and 1930s. Even the Questura has this type of Architecture--with big eagles on it. This type of architecture is meant to convey strong feelings of Nationalism and the power of the State.

Yes, I agree! I did not know this, but when I did some online research re: G. Marconi, it turns out the guy BECAME a Fascist later on in life!!! Hmmmm...I HOPE it was because he didn't want Mussolini to kick him OUT of the country--as Maria Montessori did in order to spare her OWN life :(

You got that right, Reid! Poor G. Marconi--has to have the UGLIEST masoleum here (it is DARK & depressing! )in Italy--he died during Mussolini's day...vs. Dante's Tomb--GORGEOUS white and bright rose-colored Verona marble.
