Construction teams on UDOT's Utah County I-15 Corridor Expansion (I-15 CORE) are scheduled to close 500 East in American Fork over I-15 for up to two months beginning as early as the night of Tuesday, Sept. 6. The southbound on- and off-ramps at the interchange are also scheduled to close that night for approximately one month.
Crews are continuing construction on a new diverging diamond interchange that will improve traffic flow and enhance safety. This new interchange will be similar to the Pioneer Crossing/American Fork Main Street interchange, and will eliminate left-hand turns against oncoming traffic. An interactive map of the new interchange can be viewed online at udot.utah.gov/i15core.
To allow for partial access to I-15 during reconstruction, crews will close the interchange ramps in phases. During phase one, crews will close the southbound on- and off-ramps for approximately one month in order to connect the ramps to the interchange bridges. During phase two, the southbound on- and off-ramps will reopen and the northbound on- and off-ramps will close for approximately one month while crews complete connections to the ramps.
