Bill Spencer Explains the Property Tax System

The assessor's main task is to evaluate the property throughout the county so to evenly distribute the tax burden. Currently there are thousands of property owners in Benton County who carry an unfair tax burden. Voters must determine the best candidate to see that this is corrected.
As assessor I will rebuild the website so the public can more easily communicate with the office and access resources. I will implement meaningful training for the staff so they will attain the highest level of efficiency. These actions must be executed correctly.
Among the candidates you will find that I have the most extensive, well rounded knowledge of valuing property and have the greatest technological understanding to run a modern, streamlined office.
I am the only candidate who is certified by the Washington State DOL and accredited by the DOR. I have worked the family appraisal business for 14 years and also worked as a commercial appraiser for the Franklin County office, giving me experience in both private and public sectors.
