Haiti Nago pou Ogou

To correct the Haitian use of these terms, is to imply that they are somehow wrong. Haitians say "Nago" and call Ogun by the name "Papa Ogou". The system has evolved in Haiti...these Haitians are no longer in Yoruba land, so don't expect them to speak "proper" Yoruba.

@dwolfe71 : If You Study 'Slave'-Shipping Logs You'll Realise That Most Haitians Are Not Slave Descendants! But Original Natives Of That Hemisphere...VERY FEW BLACK PEOPLE WERE SLAVES INTO THE AMERICAS! Do You Think That Pele Was A Slave-Descendant? No..He's ANCIENT BLACK NORTH AFRA-KAN=AMERICAN B4 THE CONTINENTAL-DRIFT!

@dwolfe71 well its because we speak french in haiti so its not pronounced or spell the same ,thats why just like in cuba they speak spanish so the words are change as well,i mean the spellings and pronounciations, not because they decented from slaves ,how rude

Actually the word should be Anago. And the God of War or Iron is Ogun. But I can't blame the descendants of slave for loosing some of the spelling. I so impressed that Yoruba (Anago) kept their culture after what they have been through!!! ITS a miracle. To think that Yoruba is the most widely spoken african language by Black people world wide!

the idea is unity. words like ' descendents of slaves" may make you fell superior but me I look at haiti as a symbol for freedom, "evolution" is a great word. respect each other culture will do greater good for africa
the word slave was and will never be a positive word
think about that.
