A LUSITANO? I WOULD DIE TO RIDE ONE OF THEM!! lol im only ten but oh! how amazing omg!

Although drawreins have no place in dressage training, I don't think this rider should be called names- she doesn't know any better. By using drawreins, the horse doesn't learn honest contact, which is part of the very foundation of the dressage pyramid. This is a nice horse and hopefully this rider will develop an interest in dressage and pursue it,which is good for the sport! Maybe she'll find an instructor who takes the drawreins off..
and then she can start really learning dressage! :)

I wish i could do dressage, sooooo bad. ):

She isent hurting the horse with the draw reins at all. I use them when I train my young horses so the will devlope the right muscles in their necks. Dressage is natural movements to the horse and the do the movements when they play out in pastures.

your a really good rider :)

wow do you ppl just sit on your computers and think of horrible stuff to say? shes a beginner and maybe she learns different then you assholes that are critizizing her. There's always somebody that overreacts and calls people names. Next time shut the fuck up

And don't tell me a horse isn't like a human, they're just as much like us but better. Sorry for the typos, my keyboard is very hard with the keys. When* and Hate* By the way, nice riding. Very collected and bent, especially for a first time. Looks very relaxed and together. Keep it up!

The way I see this, dressage to a horse is like ballet or gymnastics to a human. Wehn we are young we like dancing around but when the real work happens we hate it because it makes us tired, etc. But then you see professional gymnasts and dancers, do they hat what they do? No! Not to mention, ballet and gymnastics is just as unnatural to us as dressage is to a horse, same goes for track and field compared to Show Jumping and Cross Country, Polo to Soccer and so on. They really love their jobs!!!

To Rodeoabuseanimal, your name would work if you'd add an "I" betweeen the "O" and the "A". Folks, here is a great example of someone with serious rage issues hiding behind the "I love and save poor animals" facade. It's obvious you have no control over your poor white trash temper. I'd hate to be unlucky enough to be saved by someone like you. You're the type who beats the crap out of horses when they misbehave out of fear when no one is looking. You and your kind make me sick.

I dont know, maybe she isnt used to holdin her hands that way, i watched your videos and you hold your horses head the same way, no need to call harsh names k? shes obviously a beginner and u shouldnt be spouting your mouth off at someone you dont know...
BTW, was that the actual horse ridden by Johhny Depp in the Libertine? I never saw the movie and am not a huge JD fan like some are, but that is still awesome nonetheless!

Thanks for your comments. Im not an expert and dont pretend I am so there are bound to be things I get wrong, but thats the best way of learning. I just love riding horses!
He wasnt the horse JD rode, he was one of the ones in the background - but that's good enough for me :)

Thanks - he was one of the horses used in the film The Libertine with Johnny Depp!

how is a first lesson on a stallion, you've ridden before i take it, which discipline? does he naturally hold his head there or did you work it that way?

I started riding at the age of 6 but stopped about 5yrs ago. This was my first lesson since then so I was a little rusty and dressage is the only discipline I havent yet tried.
