I hope you're not discontented while this is again one of my boring walkers.

For me this is something quite new, since it's my first one-set-MOC published on YouTube. (Spring 2006 I made the NXT-Crab which is on my brickshelf.)
NXT-Fowl turned out quite easy to build hence the limited amount of parts in the 2.0 set.
The programming on the other hand is not finished yet; what you see here is some first footage of getting the right gait.

  • Very cool ... you could make the project?

  • @munod Thanks.

I hoped it was obvious that this models is already finished only not yet proper programmed. ;-)

  • Now that's a funky walk! Nice to see a 1-set walker that uses the third motor un such an original way.

  • @linmix Thanks! ;-)

    I tried to give NXT-Fowl some cute-but-sneaky-too looks. :-)

I try not to be biased by others work, but always thought this way of weight-shifting was done before.

At least the third motor in this position has the advantage of being an adjustable counterweight too.

To be honest I underestimated the weight of the four rigid cables connecting the sensors in the moving head.

The first balance tests were done without them.

Luckily I only had to chance the length of two beams.

  • you could put rubbers under his feets

  • @lomtafix I know. ;-)

If necessary tires or tracks too, since there are some parts left over from the 2.0 set. :-)

When I tried the rubbers it didn't solve, but multiplied the problems.

In this case the solution should be found in better programming; that's the area where it lacks experience...

The good news: A week ago NXT-Fowl was very good in falling, now it does better than stumbling.

    So what's NXT?

  • Nice one again Menno, I like it...

  • @GreatfangArgo Yes; it still needs a lot of observing, reprogramming and adjusting. ;-)

The hardware seems o.k. to me otherwise.

  • It's slipping around a lot, but it's neat to see some new work.

  • @zerojdaman Thanks!

It's not my first one... ;-)

Honestly it wasn't that difficult like I tried to explain in the discription:

Since I used only the parts of the 2.0 set it was very easy to choose the parts.

Finishing the programming will be much more difficult for me.
