If I remember correctly, the Final Fantasy Boss was originally that hard, the players had to stop about 18 hours in, mainly because people were getting tired and others were falling asleep, there were some who even got a little sick from drinking so much caffine.

I can see how it could be addicting; I used to raid like crazy and just for the raid itself it can take about 3-4 hours to complete it. I played wow since 2005 until I started going for my bachelor's degree, because I didn't have the time to play due to my studies. Also the fact that you just can't pause the game if you have to stop may also have a factor. It's all about moderation in my opinion.

if I don't have school I can just play for 14 hours with 2-3 30min breaks for a snack and going to the toilet, but I like Diablo II better and I'm kind of an FPS player too so that puts up Diablo, WoW, CS 1.6, GMoD and RuneScape(which sux) in my addicted list...

Im 13 and play all the time.. i mean i just really like it killing the new raid bosses.. getting new gear and all that shit i just really like its, my guild is in ICC at the moment coming up to the lich kiiing i cant waiit :D
It took me a while to get to lvl 80 myself aswell, only been playing for like 2 years

5- 6 HOURS? My brother (age 46) plays for 12+ hours on his day off!! And 8 hours on a regular day. NO LIE!! And he will SNAP at his wife and kids if they bother him while he's in a "quest" WTF?!!!!!!
