Canal beauty.

Elaine & I (Max) motor Whisper for a week or so along the Leeds & Liverpool canal. This is the most beautiful canal I have ever seen.

The views, across fantastic countryside (including parts of the Yorkshire Dales), are outstanding, and because the canal follows the contours, there is always a view.

It did rain a lot, and we do yearn for a bigger boat after a few days' rain, but small is light, and I can come alongside without leaving my seat.

With 17 bridges and 20-ish locks each way there is a total of about 150 times when I have to come alongside a nasty metal or concrete quayhead.
