Wooaaa it's my first saeguk (historical drama) and I'm head over heels. The battle scenes are epic (yeah, I know it sucks to comment Chuno starting with the battle scenes but...). The OST rocks top to bottom. I love how flawed and manly Dae Gil is. Having noted these few things, I'd like to focus on the criticism that the drama is attracting.
a) Lee Da Hae - Oh, come on you can't possibly criticize her for being too pretty, right??? I agree she was a little too white compared to the rest of the cast (with dirty and sun-burnt faces) but it's hardly her fault and besides I think it helps to understand why Tae Ha fell for her so easily. Overall: Really is that all the drama lacks in - too beautiful leading lady??? Oh, and one more thing - the most important in fact - she is adorable actress. This scene just knocks me down every time - 3:47
b) Un Nyun - I think she was doing well in the beginning - left her husband and took her life in her hands. It is then only natural that she would need time to decide what she wants to do with her life (not many options for a woman in 1636, mind you) but I think she took too much time. For several episodes in a raw all the characters were developing and entangling and she just did nothing. I got the feeling that even she was only waiting to meet Dae Gil and start the love-triangle. Now she is OK. She shows some character, I like that.
c) The pace - I have not heard anyone criticise the drama about it but for me this is THE problem of this drama. There is this amazing scene where the 2 leads are JUST about to meet, Dae Gil is about to see she is with the slave he is hunting and Un Nyun is about to realize he is alive. And I watch this and I'm like "Yes, yes, yes" and then what do we get? The mayor walking his dog and having a looong discussion with the other slave hunter whether or not they should call each other Unni/ Doongseng. Oh come on.
All in all: love the drama. Of course the final verdict will come after the series is over but for now it is great and going stronger.

Thank you so much for the lyrics, this appears on one of the most emotional scenes of the whole series ^_^
