As students of history will note, this play denotes that those who take power become kings, not any divine right, might makes right and Bollinbroke ie Henry IV is just a tyrant with no real claim to rule than any other dictator.. But he lived in times past so he's elegant..

Actually, on my online literature group we will be discussing this play in January so I must track down the production. I hope it is easy to find. I love Derek Jacobi...he is an amazing actor.

And
"You think I'll weep;
No, I'll not weep:
I have full cause of weeping, but this heart
Shall break into a hundred thousands flaws
Or ere I'll weep."
from King Lear (Act II, scene IV)?
But in my opinion too
"Mine eyes are full of tears. I cannot see."
(espcially if delivered in the way Jacobi does) is totally heartbreaking, and Shakespeare's saddest scene.

Yes, you should definitely buy it, it's utterly wonderful! I have just uploaded the whole abdication scene from the dvd on my little portable mp3 and video player, so that I can watch it over and over again...
Such a great actor whatever he appears in.
Long Live Sir Del!!!!!
