Leo Messi, is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for equity, he is working with UNICEF to advocate for the rights and the inclusion of all children regardless of their socio-economic situation, gender, physical, mental abilities, culture or religion. At the age of 11 Messi was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency, when FC Barcelona signed him as part of their youth team they agreed to cover his medical bills. The issue of disparity is a subject that Messi is familiar with as it resonates with his own experiences as a child.
