@Balkanbun - holding the alt should do the trick. It did for me. Do other Reason instruments work for you? I wonder if your NNXT was wired properly.

I'm having the same problem. Did you work out what was wrong? I am holding down alt, but no sound emerges.

thanks man! u saved life!

cool tut, man: is there a way to have the pitch wheel of a NN-XT or NN-19 to pitch the sample but keeping it at the same tempo?

Hi dan, how would the tempo change if I wanted to pitch only let's say 3 or 4 keys? is there a formula for that? greets
-
tell how 2 pitch-shift not only 2 pitch. why i should use the nnxt 4 one damn sample bro?
if i could use the nn19 4 this !

guys guys guys....
we're trying to solve the problem using Reason alone
without any other programs....

In Audacity:
You just go to effects and select change pitch and it will change the pitch without changing the tempo.
Hi Dan, I can't play any of my samples. I press the highlighted note on the virtual keyboard - no sound.
The volume is on. What could possibly be wrong?

Are you holding down 'Alt' on the keyboard?

Hi. Thanks for the video. I wonder if you can tell me why a MIDI pitch bend (both from a controller and automated track) sounds so naff and artificial compared to an real analogue synth or tape pitch control slider. It sounds like it moves through increments rather than smoothly. Is there any way to increase the smoothness in Reason? Also, it seems much better in the Subtractor than in NNXT. I've alway avoided pitch bends in MIDI, but I want to create smooth slides in unison with my slide guitar

MIDI does indeed use a finite range of values to control a pitch bend - so if the bend is offer a wide range you will indeed hear a stepping sound. Analogue synths and tape decks have an potentially infinite range of values that their pitch can be set to - hence the smoother sound.
I can't say I really use the pitch bend much over large ranges, but you might try experimenting with the portamento options (upper left of the editor) Play and hold one note and then play another at a different pitch.

if I want the sample to have the same tempo when it is pitched as it has on the routenote, how do I do that?
robearth 4 years ago
I'm afraid that is not possible using only the NNXT
