Every documentarist turns a number of shots only to forget them. There are themes, however, which have a capability of permanent presence. The art of Alexandr Onishenko belongs to them - a painter who accidentally came to Prague in 1991 and then decided to stay. Prage has offered him a home and also new friends, he pays back with his art. He paintings, made on black canvases, catch the magic of the instant. Time has come to a standstill, atmosphere of the given moment is rendered. This documentary represents an attempt to reveal the secret of the black canvas. It offers the opportunity to become a silent witness of the search for motives.
