Sorrow Sang - Warhammer 40K

It is the close of the 41st millennium. The time of ending is upon us. The million worlds of the Imperium are churning within the cauldron of war. Death not seen since the Great Heresy of old. Humanity is only kept together by the bureaucracy of its Administorum and the sweat and blood of uncounted billion soldiers. The Adeptus Astartes, though super-human and whose brains can memorize vast libraries of knowledge, still feel the sting of pain, of sorrow of loss. It is a pain all too human.

The Eldar know the time is drawing nigh. Ancient vaults have opened that can never be resealed. Their path till now has only been filled with the loss of so many that it seems implausible. Even in death their souls are bound for the warp... For Slannesh. Their only refuge is the Webway. But if their craft worlds were to fall, that would mean the end of their existence, and the destruction of their race.
They lament eternally, and no other race can conceive what they've lost or how close they are to destruction.
