  • Whats it like at the top of the corkscrew? Do you get used to the neg. G's and is it difficult to enter in a consistent manner? Thanks for the videos I really enjoy them.

  • @10mak01, You get used to neg or positive G's fairly quickly, not really any negative G's at the top of the corkscrew, it flattens out fairly gently, the "line" is pretty straight into it, but the track veers right, you just cross the track right to left, then enter the turn. I think the main goal is to not make it a sharper turn out of it than it is.

  • @dp4racing wtf is that you driving!?

  • @jraybay Not me driving. I do drive a Lola T-70 in vintage events at this same track. The owner of this McLaren sent me the video to upload.

  • The track had just been re-paved and track temperatures were very cold, this was a winter event, they put lime on the track surface to "cure" it. You can hear the wheels locking up in places. The vid I posted was NOT the fastest lap turned by this car.

Hopefully you can enjoy it for what it is, and not be so critical. BTW, this is a small block chevy engine.

  • Chevy power, baby. Sounds great! Chevrolet provided engine support for the McLaren team back then, 7+ liter big-blocks. It sure gets around Laguna quick for a 41 year old design! Thanks for posting.

  • Good vid I wish can-am racing was still around.

  • damn that thing is crazy fast

  • Wow!!! I bet the Ferrari team shit when one of these fired up....

  • I was there in 1968 and got sunstroke... kept me in-doors for a month afterwards. I was 13 years old and it was awesome, but no water fountains anywhere. The cars were so cool, and loud!!! Jim Hall's Chaparral raced but I didn't know who he was back then, but he had the coolest car with the rear spoiler over the back of the whole car, totally radical design back in the day. Thank you for the footage with this machine.

  • @mark4tk

big time amen to that brother. totallly

now THAT'S WHAT A REAL RACE CAR SOUND'S LIKE,

not these small blks and turboe'd techno thing's from acrura and audi.

  • Whaow this thing must be an adrenalin rush! Awesome. Wonder how times compare with the modified touring cars, anybody know? My guess is, this is faster? I'm just curious, I've not followed racing for many years.

  • @mark4tk check out the unlimited racing championship...

  • amazing car!!!!!

  • fantastic!
