Porsche 928 vs C6 Z06 at Thunderhill

Corvette C6 Z06 (stock) vs Porsche 928 S4 track prepped at Thunderhill for a couple laps. 928 is about 2800lbs (no driver) with 360 crank HP. RA1's 305/35-18 front and 335/30-18 rear, yes the front rub ALOT and you can hear it in the video... It was COLD so the traction was limited, so we weren't pushing the pace, so the lap times aren't very fast.....volume is low so turn it up

do these handle good like a 944 or like shit? it seems like they are nose heavy and would plow through but looks pretty good in the video and caught a zo6 which are by no standards slow

The 944 design was a copy of the 928, front engine, rear drive transaxle..944's even have 1/2 a 928 V8...but 928's have better suspensions...true coil overs on every corner, not struts and torsion bars.....watch my newer videos...an older, less powerful, automatic 928 passes corvettes with ease

@rustler08 a stock Z06 is a wicked track machine....big power-brakes-tires with light weight.....but you are right comparing this 928 against a Z06 isn't fair....try watching my newer videos with a older, heavier less powerful AUTOMATIC 928 pass Z06's

The C5 and C6 Vettes are GM's version of the 928. GM bought a 928 and took it to a secret lab in the late 70s to discover it's secrets. In 1997 (almost 20 years later!) the C5 Vette finally incorporated what they had found... rear mounted tranny with it's resulting 50/50 weight distribution being the most important thing.

Bottom line, this video is like the 928 racing it's bastard grandchild.

looks like the 06 pulls harder but u get him coming into the corners everytime
