This is the Collins KWM-2A - Arthur Collins' masterpiece. This is probably the most well-known ham radio ever made. The first ones were sold in 1959. This one is of later manufacturing date, from the late sixties. But after so many years, it is STILL going strong. Operating this radio is a breath of fresh air compared to today's throw-away radios - Do you really think your $5000 Icom or Yaesu is still in operation 45 years from now? No more spare parts- LCDs going bad - Flash ROM, EPROM and FPGA data retention problems- All that will result in their demise long before 45 years. But the KWM-2A will still work then!
