  • Since when does CW do the news?

  • @Psythik It depends what market you are in, but the Boston CW affiliates have had news since the network's inception.

  • I use to live in Boston, so it's true TV-56 is gone ?

  • WLVI is now owned by sunbeam, so it is still there, just under different ownership.

  • hwy do you have Jack Hynes Final Farewell commentary where he told the new Sunbeam Owners off? If so, could you please post?

  • I do not have it, sorry.

  • the station didnt cease operations, it was bought out by Sunbeam Television, based here in South Florida. Sunbeam shut the separate station down to save money and moved all the news to its WHDH 7 studios in Boston.

  • @hinghamweather Yea and their anchors were about 15 years old at first...don't know if they still are or if they got new ones lol

  • As of June 1, 2011, WLVI is no longer affiliated with The CW due to Sunbeam Television failing to settle an affiliation dispute with The CW's owners.

  • Bye Bye WLVI-TV I don't live in Boston and DC 50 WDCW-TV in DC I like my station

  • SADLY, We lost Don Kent yesterday 03/02/2010.

The news of his passing has hit me very hard. When you watched the weather on TV back in the 60s, 70s and very early 80s you watched Don Kent. The just don't make em like Don anymore

God Speed Mr Kent. We will miss you!

  • Lad, It cost's 5 thousand + dollars to start a low power FM. That's with a ramsey all in one kit.

  • it's been years since i've been in boston...but i do recall that station...sad it's gone~!
