  • '72 , along with 2011, are the floods the Mighty Susquehanna has punished us with for no apparent reason. May we hope the river does not surge worst than these devastating floods.

  • I was 4 when this happened.I still remember riding in our blue Oldsmobile Delta 88 to my grandparents house LOOKING FOR HIGHER GROUND!!!! I was absolutely terrified...thought it was the END!!!!!!!

  • Good Song works great with this video

  • I was 9 but remember it well. We had relatives that lost their home staying with us for months. I have this same book. Glad to have it to be able to show my children. I was even taken on the river in a boat by an uncle who was in the reserves at the time.

  • I use iMovie to do slideshows on my Mac.

  • Was 13 when this disaster hit and it was some of the scariest stuff I ever witnessed as a human being on this earth. I just bought the book THE WRATH of AGNES on ebay and boy it sure brings back a lot of bad memories. I remember that FLOOD MUD all to well. The people back then worked together to try and keep the ole Susquehanna at bay. I give each of those volunteers credit for doing what they did to try and save their city,

  • Candy man by the grateful dead was a fantastic song!!

  • I'LL NEVER FORGET THAT DAY,I WAS ONLY A CHILD OF 8YRS. WE LIVED IN OKARMA TERRACE.WE HAD TO TAKE REFUGE AT G.A.R HIGH SCHOOL.

  • A defining moment for all of us. I talk to my children about the widesprad devastation but they can't understand feet of muddy water on the street and in our homes.

  • I too have the book, and the Times Leader had a special edition in 1992. I remember it well. Even though I lived in Mountain Top at the time, I lost my paper route for three weeks until the Wilkes-Barre Publishing Company could resume the Record and the Leader.

Neil Young's "Heart of Gold" was tops in April, but I suppose you wouldn't want to play "Alone Again (Naturally)" or "Candy Man"!
