  • What was the speed? It didn't look like it made that much damage! I thought Alfa was built like tanks!

  • @corollafrenzy - was only around 30mph if the data logger is to be believed but it made a real mess. Go to 7:20 to see what was left of the front right. Major chassis damage and completely smashed the exhaust for which we had no spare.

  • @MaxxUK Yeah, that is my reference picture. It didn't look that bad to be honest.

So you make it sound like had there been a spare exhaust, you can fix that?

Do you have a link to a build or a website for the car and its progress to the build state of race-car status? I would love to see it!!!

  • @corollafrenzy - No, the main problem apparrently was that the part of the chassis that holds the front right suspension arms was completely destroyed and the team didnt think they could fabricate anything. The exhaust was mashed also, and we had no spare. I dare say if the chassis was repairable we could have fabricated some sort of exhaust. Problem is runing an unusual car in that race means you struggle for spares, a BMW and we would have been fine (the team now run a 120d)

  • BTW, please note the button at the top right, this links to a higher quality version of the same video.

  • about the only other thing you could have possibly done was let off the brakes most of the way, and take some steering away, you still woulda bounced off the wall, but you would have missed the BMW and maybe saved some money on repairs. :) Stuff happens. I didn't notice the flags the first time either, but I did see the oil pretty clearly in the vid. As a driver, I can see how you missed it. Oh well, live and learn. Glad you are ok!

  • @vonjager thanks. I most definitely could have done as you say and may have even been able to stay on track. My problem was that I couldn't hear the tyres lock and it felt like a brake failure so I added lock to slow the car against the lateral grip of the tyre, as it was locked up it wouldn't do anything (prob did slow me a little more).

I didnt see the oil but can see it in the video, I was unlucky that it was my first lap out and I was still "getting my eye in" - oh well, as you say L&L :)

  • Ah well - shizzle happens. Upon the horsies again :)

  • Good thing you crashed into another car that moved at impact...if it was the barrier the damage could have been worse.

  • shit happens

  • Wow At 0:34 no crash/damage real life in game LOL.

  • I agree with Vova993 - I can't see it either.
