I slipped into my uncle Chuckie's hidden 45 rpm box (remember those?) and pulled out all these records, one of them was Nina Simone-I Loves You Porgy/Love Me Or Leave Me (Bethlehem Records); while "Porgy" was the A-side, the B-side flipped me out as I was taking classical piano at the time; Nina tore this song apart musically and vocally---and Billie Holiday even sent Nina a congratulatory note, both songs were identified with Billie, who had hits with both; Nina was sooo far ahead of her time.

@maqGd Are you mental? She is beautiful. In fact I would go as far as to say beauty nowadays is ugly, not feminine. Nina is all woman, perfect in every imperfection.

excellent pianist, excellent singer, unbelievable artist

@Psalms11817 :: I remember hearing that song played for us in my ninth grade English class. Nothing had ever so deeply emotionally disturbed me before or since hearing it
-
@maqGd I reject this statement, in only the case that in my eyes, lest they deceive me, she was beautiful inside and out. AND to top it off she played the piano herself and was good. AMAZING

@SqueezeMyLemonBabe She loved Bach! Her first love (musically speaking).

@nomaehej agree! :D and nobody can deny it, nowadays the industrie supposes the singers to be beatiful and visualy spectacular, not good singers… when Nina Simone, they could be not a beauty Goddes, but, god! what a powerful voice! they really sang!
