second of all in the following season, you find that his kid clone escaped the facility (where the elder clone went mad and destroyed everything). And is living on the good old mansion... so he will be back...
not the original one... but he will be back!!!

@CountTambor21 Lex isn't dead. Michael Rosenbaum left the show in season seven and they had to compensate by making everyone believe he was dead. Though the character is gone the presence of him still remains. The creators know that bringing in a clone of Lex isn't enough or the fans, but due to Rosenbaum's continuing rejection to return to the role they don't have much of a choice.
