Murder Rooms: Mysteries of the Real Sherlock Holmes -- is a BBC television drama series originally broadcast in 2000 and 2001. It was inspired by the fact that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle based the character of Sherlock Holmes on his tutor at the University of Edinburgh Dr Joseph Bell, and that Bell did occasionally do forensic work for the Edinburgh police. It is said that Dr. Bell had similar deductive and observation skills as the famous Sherlock Holmes.

The Patient's Eyes: Dr. Arthur Conan Doyle and his mentor Dr. Joseph Bell investigate the case of a woman who believes she's being followed by an apparition while bicycling along a lonely road

  • what about the disappearing bike???

  • Does anybody know why they changed the actor who plays Doyle? In my personal opinion I liked the one in the first episode better.

  • Agree with revolutionno9st. Ian Richardson is a memorable Dr Bell, good acting. Spoilt for me by far fetched culprit/ending, much prefer ACD story of the cyclist. Loved episode 1. Look forward to watching the other episodes.

    Thank you for uploading.

  • hello..

i'm still confused about how the bicycle can suddenly dissapeared?is there any explanation in the this film because i don't really get it..

another but out of topic question.

    is morriarty based on someone?

    pardon my english..

  • I was sure at 01:09:19 Dr. Bell said "We will need the help of inspector Warner, and the tools of the geologist trade and an axe and above all an *ORGAN*.". I thought he might be going to do his own dramatic music. But, yes I do know what an auger is, it just sounded like organ.

  • actually Doyle has all the charachteristics of dr.watson figure and dr.bell plays the part of holmes. That is so disparaging for the author!

  • Splendid series. Much better than any Sherlock Holmes. Fine acting, not the usual characterisation often over done. Thank you.

  • There is something very Irene Adler about her, perhaps I am reading into it too much, but interesting

  • @WiseOwlOfGallifrey yeah Guy Richie and Robt Downey jr would probably disagree with me as well while they laugh their way to the bank

  • The intro spooked me a bit, nevertheless I enjoyed this show. For some odd reason unlike in other crime shows were you can figure out who is the murderer, these first two episode I was way off.
