[ch2] The Tormented Life Of A Teenager

The school finished and I hurried outside waiting for Nick. He promised me that well hang out today. Unfortunately, I only got to see him walking away with Elina.. he totally forgot about it.

I let out an exasperated sigh and made my way to his house. Three minutes later I arrived there. I don't have to knock because I have my own key, so I walked in and saw Joe stuffing his face in the kitchen with some pizza. No surprise.

I walked next to him and started poking his shoulder. "Pizza leave that poor kid alone."

"Ha- ha. Very funny Brittany. Your jokes always amaze me." Joe sarcastically said. I laughed and sat on his lap. He tried to push me off but I wrapped my arms around his neck and started kissing his cheek. "Ewk! You smell like crap! Get off of me!"

Aww Joe. No, I'm not in love with him, don't get me wrong! Like, ewk. He's just my best friend, too. I always play with him like that. "One day I'll kiss you back and you'll frighten!" he added. I rolled my eyes, "If you say so."

"Nick's not home yet."

I got off his lap and sat next to him. "I think I noticed."

He sighed. "So.. what 'chu gonna do?"

"Eat your pizza maybe?" I said and extended my arm to take it from his plate.

He slapped my hand away and took a big bite of it, "Don't even think."

"Pig."

"Proud to be."

I got up and started walking out of the kitchen. "Where are you going?"

I turned around to face him. "Nick's room. I'll be playing the guitar."

He made the puppy eyes that never work. "Are you going to leave me alone?"

"I think so." I said and kept making my way to Nick's room. I was already on the middle my way when I heard him yell, "I'm scared!" I smiled and walked into Nick's room. There, I grabbed his guitar and started playing the song I wrote a couple of weeks ago, inspired by him.

I closed my eyes to prevent a tear from falling.

"Who's the reason for the teardrops on your guitar?" Someone yelled. I opened my eyes and saw Joe sitting right next to me. It was creepy..

"Ahh! You scared the CRAP outta me!" I complained and hit his shoulder.

He laughed. "Someone is in loooove."

"What are you talking about? Can't a girl like singing?"

"Aww don't worry," he hugged me. "You're the reason for my hand in my boxers"

"Uhh.." It took me seconds to understand. "Ewk! Ewk! You're soo gross! Get your hands off of me! Ewk!" I shook his hands off and walked to the door. With my hand on the doorknob I turned around to see him smirking. Something about him made me think that maybe he wasn't lying..
