We held fast to the belief that if you feed them they will come. So when our aquaponics system got INFESTED with aphids we did almost nothing. The only ''control'' measure we took was to place ''ant traps'' which is basically a syruppy substance laced with borax. the ants take this heavenly nectar into their nest and the rest of the colony feeds on it. slowly they start to die off from the borax which is poisonouse to ants. You have to get rid of the ants because they will protect the aphids from predators like ladybug grubs.

Well this has paid off because today we not only found a ladybug but also a praying mantis which is something I have not see in the wild for many years. Praise Jesus, this works.
